Women’s bamboo clothing made for every body
As well as our innovative approaches to material selection, sustainable design and ethical production, HARA is committed to offering fashion to all women, no matter what shape or size you may be. Our entire collection is available in inclusive sizes from XS - 5XL and our separates are designed to celebrate your body’s natural beauty.
The apparel industry is one of the earth’s biggest polluters. At HARA, we’re doing our part to reduce that carbon footprint, creating garments that are designed to be loved and to last. Our dream at HARA is to create a completely transparent supply chain that all happens in one place. From the way we run our production team to the care we take in selecting the right natural dyes and flattering cuts for each of our designs, we’re taking a slower, more considered approach to fashion. We hope you’ll enjoy and treasure each of your HARA pieces for years to come.
What does HARA mean?
The word HARA means green in Hindi. To us, it symbolises our mission to care for the earth and create garments that are truly sustainable. As a label, HARA means empowerment, sustainability and education. We’re seeking to produce pieces that are as beautiful and soft as they are ethical and good for the planet. Along the way, we want to rejuvenate the earth as much as possible.
What makes bamboo clothing special?
Bamboo fabric is an amazing material that is perfect for soft and comfortable lingerie and loungewear alike. Because the bamboo plant is fast-growing and doesn’t take up much land, it makes a great sustainable source for clothing manufacturing. Unlike cotton, it doesn’t require extra watering beyond rainwater and it can be cultivated without the use of pesticides, insecticides or fertilisers.
The process of turning bamboo plants into fabric is done by using non-toxic solvents and an eco-friendly, closed-loop system. Every HARA garment is made using only organically grown raw bamboo and is OEKO-TEX 100 certified which guarantees that no harmful chemicals are used in its production. We think all of this makes it pretty special.
What does bamboo clothing feel like?
Bamboo material is incredibly soft and gentle, making it a great option for garments worn close to your body, like bras and undies, loungewear and sportswear. It’s also hypo-allergenic, so those with sensitive skin and eczema won’t be irritated wearing it. As well as feeling silky and smooth, bamboo clothing is naturally antibacterial and antifungal even after multiple washes, so your bamboo garments resist odours. You’ll love the feeling of the neutrally charged fabric which stops clothes from clinging, too.
