Its time to protect our feminine areas like the bouquet of flowers they are. If you have ever suffered from UTI's or other problems you may not have thought about the fact it could be the underwear you are wearing.

#1 Natural Fabrics

  • Silk or polyester underwear traps moisture and bacteria against the body, increasing your risk of getting an infection. Bamboo is a more breathable fabric, allowing air to circulate and preventing bacterial growth.

  • Unlike cotton, bamboo fabric allows moisture to evaporate into the air quickly. So when you sweat, you won’t stay wet. Bonus – bamboo fabric is super light and silky soft too!

  • The natural properties of bamboo also make the natural fabric:

    • anti-bacterial

    • anti-fungal

    • hypoallergenic

    • thermo-regulating (keeps you cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter)

    • static-free

    • wrinkle-free

    • odourless

#2 Natural Dyes

Chemical dyes are made up of chemical compounds that can be harmful to humans, especially those who work in their production. Some of the chemicals found in chemical dyes are mercury, lead, chromium, copper, sodium chloride, toluene, and benzene. Exposure to large doses of these substances can be toxic and can have severe effects in the human body.

Water pollution is also a big result from manufacturing chemical dyes when untreated dye is dumped directly into water.

These dyes also stay in the clothing and get absorbed into our bodies when we wear them.

Advantage of Natural Dyes:

  • Minimal Environmental Impact – Because they come from natural sources, natural dyes are not harmful to the environment. Natural dyes are biodegradable and disposing them don’t cause pollution.
  • Renewable  – Natural dyes are obtained from renewable sources that can be harnessed without imposing harm to the environment.
  • Sustainable - Natural Dyes made from leaves do not need to cut or kill the trees, harvesting multiple times
  • Non Allergenic - Natural Dyes do not irritate the skin and help discourage bacteria and yeast infections

#3 A Loose and Comfortable Fit

As I'm sure you know, the skin around your vaginal area is thinner (and thus more sensitive) than the rest of your skin. Because of this, it's very important to wear underwear that fits you right. Super-tight underwear causes an uncomfortable amount of friction that will lead to mild irritation at best and ingrown hairs at worst.

On top of that, tight underwear can contribute to the development of yeast infections because it allows for heat and moisture to build up in your vaginal area — and heat and moisture create the ideal setting for bacteria to grow down there.

Do your skin a favour and cover it with gentle underwear that loves it back!
